The ASB2 is similar to Duncan's original ASB soapbar pickups but with some extra fire inside. The EQ of this pickup has been shifted to deliver heightened mid range and a slightly harder attack without being harsh. There is an overall hi-fi tone, and the response gives you detail in the lowest of lows and highest of highs, especially crucial in the demanding 6-string configuration. Every note is precise and super tight, which is paramount to intricate playing styles, or when using overdrive or gain in your signal chain. The internal split-blade design underneath the cover to allow for the best string-to-string balance of any soapbar.This pickup is a direct replacement for any EMG 40 sized pickup slot. Many players combine the ASB2 pickups with STC-2 or STC-3 Tone Circuit preamps to add sophisticated EQ sculpting. Battery life is approximately 1,000 continuous hours per set all necessary mounting and wiring hardware is included.
